News: 3 days agoJarry stopped 25 of 26 shots in Thursday's 2-1 preseason win over the Canucks.
Spin: Jarry had an AHL-level lineup in front of him against most of the Canucks' NHL roster, so give him some bonus points for the performance. The 31-year-old has stopped 40 of 42 shots across his two preseason outings. That may be enough to give him the No. 1 job over Devon Levi to start the campaign, though Levi figures to get a chance to reply in Saturday's preseason finale versus the Flames.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Jarry split last season between Pittsburgh, where he was pretty good (9-3-1, 2.66 GAA, .909 save percentage), and Edmonton, where he was awful (9-6-2, 3.86 GAA, .858 save percentage). His numbers have gone in the wrong direction four straight years and it's difficult to believe he is suddenly going to be able to turn things around at age 31. The good news for Jarry is that the only thing standing between him and significant playing time this coming season is 37-year-old Frederik Andersen, one of the NHL's most injury-prone goaltenders. There's a non-zero chance Jarry could carve out fantasy value in 2026-27.
