Fantasy Hockey
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Thomas was bit by the injury bug last season, as he appeared in just 64 games, his lowest total in the past five years. That's the bad news. The good news is that he averaged north of a point-per-game (25 goals, 64 points) for a third straight season. Thomas is always good for north of 20 power-play points over the course of a full season and he's finished with no worse than a plus-20 rating each of the past two years, so he's a legitimate all-around fantasy threat. Thomas doesn't shoot the puck much (102 shots on goal last season) and that severely limits his fantasy ceiling, but if you're on the hunt for a playmaker in the early rounds with an ability to rack up 60-plus helpers, this is your guy.
