ESPN Fantasy Projection: Wallstedt split time with Filip Gustavsson in the Minnesota net for his rookie season and had a great year. He finished with an 18-9-6 record along with a 2.61 GAA and .915 save percentage before starting ten of 11 playoff games for the club. Gustavsson's contract -- six more years at a cap hit of $6.8 annually -- suggests he should be considered the front runner for playing time, but he's also expected to miss at least some portion of next season following offseason hip surgery. Wallstedt is talented enough to run away with the job early on. Veteran Calvin Pickard was brought in on a one-year deal to back up Wallstedt until Gustavsson is deemed ready.
