Commentary

Brobbey loses out to Fofana in another duel, and Chelsea break forward through Neto as a result, with the Portuguese taking on Reinildo down the right. Neto looks to have the beating of the Sunderland full-back, but is penalised after shrugging him off the ball on the byline, and his reaction to that decision earns the winger a yellow card for dissent.

Brobbey backs into Fofana as the pair compete from Reinildo's throw in, but Estevao arrives in support to win possession for Chelsea, and Brobbey's shove on Fofana after losing the ball results in a booking for the Sunderland striker.
Sunderland have lost five of their last six Premier League matches, more than in their previous 14 matches (four) combined.

Lovely link-up play from Sunderland sees Le Fee, Hume and Brobbey link up before the striker plays the ball wide to his right. Meunier and Caicedo slide in to compete for it but the Chelsea man is always getting there first, and Meunier is booked after catching him with that late lunge.
Chavarria's foul on Hume sparks one fracas which leads to another, with Henderson heading over to diffuse things between Lavia, Fofana and Brobbey on the halfway line.
Sunderland have avoided defeat in their last 14 matches when scoring first in the Premier League, since a 5–1 loss to none other than Chelsea back in May 2017.
