Gladbach v Augsburg
Gladbach begin life after Lucien Favre with big win over Augsburg
Borussia Monchengladbach picked up their first points of the season with a 4-2 win over Augsburg in their first game since Lucien Favre's shock resignation.
Sitting on the bench for the first time as Gladbach's caretaker coach, Andre Schubert could hardly believe his eyes as the Foals raced into a four-goal lead within 21 minutes at the Borussia Park Stadion.
Fabian Johnson put them in front as early as the fifth minute before three more goals in the space of three minutes effectively put the points in the bank, Granit Xhaka, Lars Stindl and Mahmoud Dahoud doing the honours.
Augsburg captain Paul Verhaegh notched two penalty strikes in the second half but they would prove to be mere consolations, while Gladbach also hit the woodwork several times and could have won more convincingly.
