Fahid Ben Khalfallah secures win for Melbourne Victory at Newcastle Jets

Melbourne Victory overcame Newcastle Jets to start 2016 with a win.

SYDNEY -- French-born Tunisian midfielder Fahid Ben Khalfallah's 71st-minute goal gave Melbourne Victory a 1-0 win Sunday over the Newcastle Jets.

It was the Victory's first win in Newcastle in more than six years covering eight matches.

The win left the Victory in fifth place with 20 points, seven behind first-place Brisbane and second-place Western Sydney.
