Stirling v Cumbernauld
Steven Doris and Craig Beattie at the double as Stirling crush Cumbernauld
Steven Doris and Craig Beattie both scored twice as League Two Stirling Albion cruised to a 6-0 victory in their rearranged Scottish Cup third round clash against Lowland League Cumbernauld Colts. The home side were gifted the chance to take an early lead when Doris was brought down in the box by Robbie Duncan. The striker dusted himself down and stepped up confidently but his penalty rattled the underside of the crossbar.Doris spurned another good chance shortly afterwards, looping a header inches over, before eventually putting Stirling ahead in the 16th minute, firing in from a goalmouth scramble. The home side doubled their advantage after 23 minutes when Mark Lamont's corner from the right picked out Sean Dickson and he powerfully headed past goalkeeper Ross Doohan. And it was 3-0 early in the second half as Doris was played in by a weighted pass from Kevin McKinlay and coolly slotted home. The two-goal forward made way for Beattie after 69 minutes and four minutes later the substitute had scored, sweeping the ball into the bottom corner.Kyle Lander added a fifth after Doohan could only parry a Lamont shot and Beattie grabbed his second of the game at the death with a simple finish.
