Raith through to William Hill Scottish Cup despite late Elgin fightback

Raith secured safe passage into the William Hill Scottish Cup fourth round with a 2-1 win at Elgin.Rovers dominated from the off but had to wait until the 38th minute to take the lead as Ryan McCord struck from the penalty spot after an infringement from Brian Cameron.John Daly missed a fine chance to double the lead soon after the restart as he was denied by a good save from Stewart Black, but there was nothing the home goalkeeper could do about Grant Anderson's effort in the 54th minute as he drilled into the bottom corner.Raith looked like seeing it out unscathed until Jordan Halsman registered for Elgin after latching on to Matthew Cooper's pass but it was too little too late.
