PSG v Angers
Kylian Mbappe's brace guides 10-man PSG to win over Angers
Kylian Mbappe scored twice and 10-man Paris Saint-Germain held off Angers 2-1 to maintain their perfect home record in Ligue 1 on Wednesday.
Mbappe opened the scoring in the 12th minute after receiving a fine through ball from Julian Draxler and slotting it inside the far post with his first touch.
But PSG were dealt a blow just four minutes later when Thiago Motta was shown a straight red card for appearing to stamp on the chest of defender Romain Thomas, who had attempted a sliding challenge.
However, PSG's dominance still told as Layvin Kurzawa received a ball over top, then cut the ball back for Mbappe to add a second goal in the 25th minute.
The visitors attempted to set up a dramatic finish as Karl Toko Ekambi stayed onside and poked the ball past Kevin Trapp at the goalkeeper's near post in the 75th minute.
Mbappe nearly completed a hat trick as he struck the bar in the 84th minute, and PSG were able to see out the result, though the slim scoreline meant it was the first time they had failed to win a home game by more than one goal in the league this season.
