Aymeric Laporte's late winner helped Manchester City secure a 2-1 victory over Bayern Munich in a preseason clash in Tokyo, Japan on Wednesday.

Academy graduate James McAtee tapped home a saved effort from Julian Alvarez to open the scoring for City, who named a strong side that included Bayern transfer target Kyle Walker.

Bayern's Mathys Tel equalised on 81 minutes, but Laporte struck home from close range on 86 minutes to hand City a narrow victory.

City are on a preaseason tour of Asia, having already earned a  5-3 victory over Yokohama F. Marinos on Sunday.

City cap the tour with a clash against Atletico Madrid in Seoul, South Korea on Saturday before returning to Manchester to prepare for the Community Shield against Arsenal on Aug. 6.

Meanwhile, Bayern play again on Saturday when they face Kawasaki Frontale at the Japan National Stadium.
