Commentary
The spoils are shared at Villa Park, as Aston Villa and Brentford both return from a three-week break by claiming one point. It was a game defined by two quickfire exchanges, as the hosts immediately levelled after conceding an early goal, then squandered a 2-1 lead within seconds of going in front. Before the break, Yarmoliuk drilled home a stunning finish in the 10th minute, only to see that strike cancelled out within 88 seconds, as Jackson pulled Villa level. The latter then spurned a big chance to score again before the interval, and Kelleher made two sharp stops during first-half stoppage time. While both teams sought a second goal in the second half, Emery's men were more convincing, and it duly arrived from captain McGinn in the closing stages. However, the Bees stung straight back when Ajer coolly sloted in an equaliser under two minutes later. Though Villa produced an xG of 1.72 from 20 attempts - compared to 1.25 from 14 by Brentford - they'll have to wait for a first home win of the Premier League season. While they will welcome Fenerbahce to Birmingham next week, Brentford's unbeaten league campaign continues in seven days time, when they play host to Liverpool. That's all from our live coverage today, so thank you for joining us and goodbye!
FULL-TIME: ASTON VILLA 2-2 BRENTFORD
CLOSE! Kelleher keeps the scores level! After more good work on the left wing, Mbaye manages to squeeze in a rising shot from the tightest of angles, but Brentford's 'keeper reaches up to fingertip it over the top!

Making his first significant contribution since arriving from the bench, Wilson is booked. It's either for a high boot or dissent.
Mbaye drifts inside from the left but Villa's attack runs into heavy traffic, with their visitors now forming a large defensive wall. McGinn's deflected cross then evades Jackson, allowing Kelleher to leave his line and clean up.
There will be a minimum of six added minutes at Villa Park, as both teams seek a very late winner. Aston Villa would move within two points of Brentford if they can find one.
