Commentary
Galatasaray get off the mark in the Champions League as they run out 4-2 winners over Lille at the Decathlon Arena. The first half was frenetic, and Galatasaray set the tone after just 65 seconds when Akgun fired the visitors into an early lead. That advantage lasted little more than five minutes, though, as Diaoune raced through, rounded Cakir and restored parity for the hosts. The Turkish giants then thought they'd won a penalty when Osimhen collided with Lille goalkeeper Ozer, but a VAR review sent the referee to the monitor and the decision was swiftly overturned after replays showed the shot-stopper had won plenty of the ball. Lille made the most of that reprieve, with Diaoune grabbing his second of the evening to put Les Dogues ahead for the first time. However, Batrakov capitalised on some slack defending to level the scores on the cusp of half-time. Only one side emerged after the restart, and it was Buruk's men. Following a corner, Torreira's near-post flick caught out Ozer, with the goalkeeper only able to help the ball into his own net. Lille (1.88 xG) couldn't muster a response, and Osimhen compounded their misery with a clinical finish against his former club after a devastating counter-attack. Despite posting the lower xG tally of 1.64, Galatasaray record their first victory of the league phase and can now look ahead to the small matter of hosting Fenerbahce next time out. Lille, meanwhile, remain pointless in Europe and must quickly regroup before returning to Ligue 1 action against Monaco. That's all from us here, until next time!
FULL-TIME: LILLE 2-4 GALATASARAY
We're into three minutes of stoppage time.

Perrin is booked after a frustrated swipe at Lemina, with Lille's growing irritation beginning to show.
Lille's belief is ebbing away. Perrin cuts in from the left and gets a shot away, but Sanchez throws himself in front of it with a committed block. Right now, Galatasaray look sharper and far more determined to get over the line.

Jakobs is penalised for catching his opponent with a high boot, and the referee reaches for his pocket to brandish a yellow card.
