S Bratislava v Stuttgart

The full-time whistle sounds at Stadion Tehelne pole as Stuttgart defeat Slovan Bratislava 3-0 on matchday two of the Champions League! After Takac brilliantly denied Undav with a successive double save, there was nothing he could do about the German’s composed 29th-minute finish. Vagnoman came inches close to adding a second, but his 25-yard half-volley rattled the woodwork. The hosts thought they had levelled the scoreline eight minutes after the break, but Camara’s cute finish was disallowed for offside with VAR upholding the original decision. Sandro Cruz’s close-range strike then crashed against the upright with Toure’s men searching for a leveller. However, it was Stuttgart who found the next goal in the 64th minute with Vagnoman’s pullback cannoning off Sandro Cruz and nestling in the bottom-left corner. Demirovic added another for the visitors in the 90th minute, heading past the helpless Takac after some good work from Assignon down the right. The hosts created 15 shots with one on target, reflected by an xG of 0.73, whereas the visitors registered 16 shots with eight on target, highlighted by an xG of 1.89. That concludes our live commentary of this Champions League league-phase contest. We hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for reading and take care!
