SEC commissioner Greg Sankey said he realizes some coaches and ADs in his league have expressed support for a 24-team model. “The first amendment is alive and well,” he said. He also referred reporters back to his original December statement that “16 is the next right step.” I asked Sankey if he and Big Ten commish Tony Petitti can get to a consensus on format by the Dec. 1 deadline: “We’ll see.”
