CULIACAN, Mexico (Ticker) -- Greg Norton drove in two runs to key a five-run eighth inning as the Colorado Rockies defeated the San Diego Padres, 6-5, in the first major league game at this Pacific Coast city. Rookie Elvis Pena and Kevin Sefcik each drove in a run for Colorado. Craig House got the win despite giving up two runs and one hit over one inning, striking out two and walking two. Joe Davenport allowed one run and two hits in two innings but got the save. Rockies starter Brian Bohanon pitched 4 2/3 innings, giving up two runs and five hits. He yielded a home run to Eric Owens on the first pitch of the game and another solo shot to Kevin Witt. Mike Darr drove in Ryan Klesko with a double in the seventh inning for the Padres. San Diego starter Rodrigo Lopez allowed one run and two hits in two innings and Brian Tollberg tossed two four scoreless frames. But rookie Brian Lawrence was reached for four runs and three hits in just one-third of an inning to take the loss. A crowd of 18,000 turn up at Angel Flores Stadium, which hosts a team in Mexico's winter league.
