SCOTTSDALE, Arizona (Ticker) -- Felipe Crespo hit a two-run homer and Ruzz Ortiz pitched six strong innings for the San Francisco Giants in a 12-2 victory over a split squad of Seattle Mariners in the Cactus League. Crespo hit a two-homer in the fifth, walked and scored twice for the Giants, who had 17 hits. Ortiz, likely to be the Giants' fourth starter, allowed one run and five hits with seven strikeouts in his longest outing of the spring. Seattle starter John Halama worked four innings, allowing two runs and five hits. The Giants broke open the game with five runs in the seventh. Scott Podsednick had an inside-the-park homer for the Mariners in the seventh. The game attracted a record crowd of 11,721 to Scottsdale Stadium.
