ESPN Fantasy Projection: Heyward experienced a power resurgence last season, posting his most home runs (21) and highest ISO (.177) since 2012. Neither his average launch angle nor average exit velocity saw significant jumps, but Heyward succeeded in hitting a greater number of well-struck balls, as his 5.9% barrel rate more than doubled his mark from the previous campaign. The increased focus on power took a toll on the left-hander's strikeout rate (18.7%, his highest in seven seasons) and batting average (.251, down 19 points from 2018), but the tradeoff was positive in light of Heyward's increased run production. That said, it's highly unlikely that the 30-year-old is primed for a late-career venture into elite power territory, and Heyward's reduced stolen-base totals -- he hasn't reached double-digit thefts since 2016 -- lessen his luster considerably. In mixed leagues, there are better gambles to take with your last bench spot.
