LeBron James scores 20 points as Heat rout Clippers in China

LeBron James scored 20 points and Dwyane Wade made his preseason debut as the Miami Heat posted a 94-80 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers in Beijing on Thursday.

The reigning league NBA champions were playing the first of two games against the Clippers in China. The teams will meet again Sunday in Shanghai.

James was in his MVP form, making 6 of 11 shots and collecting five rebounds and five assists in 26 minutes.

Still recovering from offseason left knee surgery, Wade played for the first time in the preseason after missing the opener. He had five points, four rebounds and four assists in 23 minutes.

Earlier this week, Wade signed with Chinese sportswear provider La-Ning, which is giving the Heat star his own brand within the company.

Wade told The Associated Press that he expects the Li-Ning deal to continue through at least the remainder of his playing career. Wade wore Converse sneakers for his first six seasons, then Jordan Brand for the past three years.

Ray Allen added 15 points and Norris Cole and Rodney Carney contributed 11 apiece for the Heat, who built a 53-35 halftime lead.

Blake Griffin, who missed the London Olympics after injuring his knee, had 19 points and eight rebounds to pace the Clippers. Jamal Crawford added 16 points.
