News: 3 days agoCobb was not targeted in Sunday's 24-14 victory over the Bears.
Spin: Cobb was on the field for 23 plays in Week 6, but he did not see even one pass directed his way. He has worked as the Packers' No. 3 wideout since Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) landed on injured reserve, and that has resulted in one big game in Week 4 and two quiet appearances since. If Valdes-Scantling remains out for Week 7, Cobb could get involved again, as the Packers will take on a Washington defense that has allowed wide receivers to rack up 420 yards from scrimmage and five touchdowns over the last two weeks.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Cobb was traded back to Green Bay after posting a 38-441-3 receiving line in 10 games with Houston last season. A fantasy standout during his early years, Cobb has missed at least one game each of the past five seasons, including six missed in 2020 and seven in 2018. He failed to clear four TDs during any of those campaigns. Cobb continues to dominate with the ball in his hands, as he's never finished a season in which he handled 50-plus targets lower than 17th in RAC, but his role and shaky durability have prevented him from posting a top-30 fantasy season since 2014. The 31-year-old has a path to a substantial role as Aaron Rodgers' hand-picked slot receiver, but his limitations make him no more than a PPR bench option.
