News: 4 days agoSmith completed 27 of 37 passes for 328 yards and two touchdowns with one interception in Sunday's 40-34 overtime loss to the Raiders.
Spin: He added 22 rushing yards on five carries but also lost a fumble. Smith found Tyler Lockett in the second quarter and Travis Homer in the fourth for his TDs, with the latter giving the Seahawks a late lead, but the defense wasn't able to make it hold up. The passing yards were a season high for Smith, and he's tossed exactly two touchdowns in five straight games heading into a Week 13 clash with the Rams.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Smith re-signed with Seattle and beat out Drew Lock for the team's starting job. Smith has played sparingly (15 appearances) during the last seven seasons, but made three starts in relief of an injured Russell Wilson in 2021. He totaled five touchdowns and threw zero INTs en route to one top-15 fantasy outing (seventh) during the span. Despite the respectable showing, Smith is now 31 years old and his best fantasy finish was 20th as a rookie back in 2013. He'll have a respectable group of targets (DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, Noah Fant), but is unlikely to perform well enough to come anywhere close to starting consideration in fantasy. He shouldn't be drafted.
