News: 3 days agoMurray had nine carries for 36 yards and a score Sunday against the Chiefs.
Spin: The veteran has averaged 9.5 carries per game through two outings with his new team and has punched in a touchdown in each game thus far. Ty'Son Williams out-snapped Murray and was more effective on a per-carry basis (5.9 YPC), but it's clear the Ravens want to keep Murray involved in the run game. Baltimore heads to Detroit to face the Lions in Week 3.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Murray is back in New Orleans as the early-down complement to the more-versatile Alvin Kamara. The role has allowed Murray 8.2 carries and 1.8 targets per game during outings in which both were active over the past two seasons. That's obviously not much and resulted in a grand total of three weekly finishes better than 25th (one better than 16th). Murray obviously lacks standalone value, though it's worth noting he put up 307 yards and four TDs on 62 touches during two games Kamara missed with an injury in 2019. Murray is now 31 years old and his stock is down with Drew Brees retired and Tony Jones Jr. now in the mix for carries. Murray is a decent insurance policy, but no more.
