News: 6 days agoEbron failed to haul in either of his two targets in Sunday's 26-17 loss to the Raiders.
Spin: Ebron dealt with a hamstring injury during practice ahead of Sunday's Week 2 matchup, but he wasn't on the injury report. Rookie Pat Freiermuth drew the start at tight end and hauled in all four of his targets, while Ebron has been targeted twice in each of the first two weeks of the 2021 campaign.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Ebron's 2020 season - his first with Pittsburgh - started slowly, but he quietly finished 10th or better at the position in routes, targets, receptions and OTD, while landing 12th in fantasy points per game. Ebron posted three games with 11-plus targets after Week 11 and was fantasy's No. 8 TE after Week 2. Ebron played 73% of the snaps when active last season and his primary competition for work is rookie Pat Freiermuth in a Steelers' offense that has posted a TE target share of at least 15% each of the past 12 seasons. Ebron is likely to be undervalued in 2021 drafts, as the 28-year-old very much as back-end TE1 upside in the Steelers' pass-heavy scheme.
