News: 2 days agoHigbee caught eight of 11 targets for 62 yards and a touchdown during Sunday night's 30-26 loss to the Broncos.

Spin: Higbee went from having no targets in Week 2 to leading the team with eight catches while finishing second only to wide receiver Davante Adams (13) in targets one week later. The tight end reeled in his first touchdown of the year to cap off the team's second possession of the game, connecting with quarterback Matthew Stafford for a five-yard score. Higbee may have seen the added opportunities as a result of fellow tight end Terrance Ferguson sustaining an ankle injury in the first quarter, but Ferguson was able to return to action. Higbee will have a chance to prove that his performance wasn't an anomaly when the team hosts Philadelphia in Week 4.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Higbee re-signed with the Rams and will battle for work with the likes of Colby Parkinson, Davis Allen, Terrance Ferguson and rookie Max Klare. The 2016 fourth-round pick has a pair of top-10 fantasy campaigns in his career, but the last one came in 2022 and he's finished 24th or worse in three consecutive seasons. Injuries have been part of the issue (21 missed games over the last two seasons), but so has a lesser role and minimal goal-line work (seven touchdowns and four end zone targets over the last three years). Now 33 years old, Higbee is likely third in line for targets at his position on his own team and, thus, nowhere close to fantasy relevance.
