News: 2 hours agoHigbee hauled in four of seven targets for 51 yards in Sunday's 30-27 win over the Buccaneers.
Spin: Higbee finished third among all Rams' receiving options behind Cooper Kupp (9-183-1) and Odell Beckham (6-69-0). The 28-year-old is averaging 48.5 receiving yards over Los Angeles' first two playoff appearances this year. While that yardage total is nothing to write home about, it is worth mentioning that two of Higbee's five regular season touchdowns came in a Week 18 matchup against the 49ers, who the Rams will be facing in the NFC Championship Game next Sunday.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: During the final five weeks of 2019, Higbee came out of nowhere to average 11.4 targets per game and was fantasy's top-scoring TE by 23 points. It appeared the cat was out of the bag and Higbee was finally in the TE1 mix. So much for that. Higbee posted a 44-521-5 receiving line in 2020 with three of those five scores coming in one game (he had a 43-522-2 line during those five weeks in 2019). Higbee is a good all-around player, but he's now 28 years old and Sean McVay doesn't seem interested in permanently increasing his passing-game usage. Perhaps Matthew Stafford will unlock his fantasy value, but even with Gerald Everett is gone, Higbee is an uninspiring TE2.
