News: 5 days agoWinston completed 11 of 22 passes for 111 yards and two interceptions while rushing for 19 yards and a touchdown on three carries in Sunday's 26-7 loss to the Panthers.

Spin: Good as Winston and the Saints looked in Week 1, they looked just as bad in Week 2, as the former Tampa Bay quarterback tossed a couple of very ugly picks and got sacked four times. The COVID-19 breakout among the Saints' coaching staff may have played a big part in the team's generally sloppy play, but Winston has shown in the past he's more than capable of making bad decisions without extenuating circumstances. New Orleans will look to regroup in Week 3 on the road against a tough New England defense.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Winston re-signed with the Saints during the offseason and will replace Drew Brees as the team's starter. Winston was limited to 11 pass attempts in his first season with New Orleans, but you may recall his thrilling 2019 season in Tampa Bay in which he threw 33 TDs while pacing the NFL in passing yards (5,109) and INTs (30). The New Orleans offense will look much different with Winston, as where Brees has been extremely conservative and accurate, Winston is much more aggressive: he has never finished a season lower than third in average depth of throw. Winston has Sean Payton calling the shots and Michael Thomas (after Week 4) and Alvin Kamara at his disposal, so while not a safe pick, the 27-year-old has the upside to warrant a late-round flier.
