News: 2 days agoDavis (groin) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Texans, Randy Lange of the Jets' official site reports.

Spin: Davis will be in street clothes for the third time this season, an unsurprising development after the Jets downgraded him Saturday from questionable to doubtful in advance of the Week 12 contest. With Davis sidelined, rookie quarterback Zach Wilson will have Elijah Moore, Jamison Crowder and Keelan Cole available as his primary options at receiver in his return from a four-game absence due to a knee injury.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Davis signed with the Jets after four seasons with the Titans. The 2017 fifth-overall pick underwhelmed during his first three seasons, despite heavy usage, but progressed a bit in 2020 with a 65-984-5 receiving line on 94 targets. It was easily his most efficient season, as he caught 71% of his targets despite a career-high 12.2 aDOT. That helped him to 10.7 YPT (seventh best at WR) and 2.7 YPRR (fourth). Davis is ticketed for an every-down role in New York, but he has yet to post a single top-25 fantasy campaign and will now be working in a potentially run-first and low-scoring scheme with a rookie QB and a crowded WR room (Jamison Crowder, Elijah Moore, Keelan Cole, Denzel Mims). The 26-year-old is a WR3/flex.
