News: 5 days agoSchultz caught five of six targets for 79 yards in Sunday's 35-29 overtime win over the Patriots.
Spin: The tight end continues to show a great rapport with Dak Prescott, hauling in at least five passes in five of six games so far this season, but Schultz missed out on his fourth TD of the year when Blake Jarwin caught a one-yard score instead. Schultz will head into the Cowboys' Week 7 bye with 31 receptions on 37 targets for 359 yards and three touchdowns.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Schultz was the No. 11-scoring TE in fantasy last season, ranking no lower than fifth at the position in snaps (942), routes (500) and receptions (63). After totaling 120 yards on 18 targets during his first two NFL seasons, the 2018 fourth-round pick exploded for a 63-615-4 receiving line on 88 targets. Of course, Schultz would not have been close to those numbers had starter Blake Jarwin not gone down for the season with a torn ACL in Week 1. The two tight ends are expected to battle for the top job in 2021, though a healthy Jarwin would figure to have the leg up. Dallas operates a high-volume, high-scoring offense, so Schultz is worth a late pick in leagues that start multiple tight ends.
