News: 4 days agoHarris carried the ball 23 times for 100 yards in Sunday's Week 1 loss to the Dolphins. He added two receptions for 17 yards.
Spin: Harris dominated the Patriots' backfield, accounting for 23 of the team's 30 rushing attempts. He largely handled the duties well, as he picked up 35 yards on the game's first play from scrimmage and also chipped in a chunk gain of 11 yards later in the contest. While the stat sheet reflects a relatively positive opening game for Harris, his box score production could be overshadowed by a fumble late in the fourth quarter that came deep in Dolphins territory and cost the Patriots a chance to win the game. That miscue could cost Harris work heading into a Week 2 matchup against the Jets, though the team lacks a proven option that is capable of serving a similar role.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: We finally got a long look at Harris last season after the 2019 third-round pick was limited to five snaps as a rookie. Harris made his 2020 debut in Week 4 and went on to rack up 743 yards and a pair of TDs on 142 touches. He impressed as a rusher (5.0 YPC, 2.0 YAC) despite facing 7.4 box defenders per carry (second highest), but was uninvolved as a receiver (eight targets). Harris was RB24 in fantasy during 10 active weeks, managing one weekly finish better than 19th (11th). The 24-year-old will share carries with the likes of rookie Rhamondre Stevenson and J.J. Taylor, and James White is back as the team's primary receiving back. Harris is on the flex radar, especially in non-PPR leagues.
