News: 2 days agoJohnson caught his lone target for an 11-yard touchdown in Sunday's 36-24 win over the Cardinals.
Spin: Johnson caught the third of Jameis Winston's three touchdowns, scoring from 11 yards out late in the third quarter to give the G-Men a 27-24 lead. Working more as a blocker alongside Isaiah Likely, Johnson has just two catches for 20 yards and a touchdown on six targets this season.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Johnson was a solid find by the Giants in the fourth round of the 2024 draft, but he's headed for a reduced role this season following New York's signing of Isaiah Likely and Malik Nabers' return to health. The change comes after Johnson ranked top 12 among tight ends in both snaps and routes, but 23rd in catches and 19th in yards last season. Johnson was busy near the goal line (seven end zone targets), but struggled with drops (tight end-high nine), which led to a poor 63% catch rate. Johnson finished 23rd in fantasy PPG and now may be lucky to see a target or two per game. He's well off the fantasy radar.
