News: 2 days agoJohnson played 16 of the Giants' 58 offensive snaps but did not haul in any of his four targets during Monday's 28-6 loss to the Rams.

Spin: All four of Johnson's targets came in the first half, three of which were in the opening quarter. The third-year tight end failed to record a catch, but he did log a tackle on Trent McDuffie after the latter intercepted Jameis Winston midway through the second quarter. Johnson is firmly behind Isaiah Likely on the depth chart, though all of the Giants pass catchers figure to see their production dip with Winston under center instead of Jaxson Dart, the latter of whom could miss the rest of the season due to a knee injury.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Johnson was a solid find by the Giants in the fourth round of the 2024 draft, but he's headed for a reduced role this season following New York's signing of Isaiah Likely and Malik Nabers' return to health. The change comes after Johnson ranked top 12 among tight ends in both snaps and routes, but 23rd in catches and 19th in yards last season. Johnson was busy near the goal line (seven end zone targets), but struggled with drops (tight end-high nine), which led to a poor 63% catch rate. Johnson finished 23rd in fantasy PPG and now may be lucky to see a target or two per game. He's well off the fantasy radar.
