News: 2 days agoBowers caught seven of 10 targets for 92 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 38-33 win over the Jets.
Spin: Bowers scored a 12-yard touchdown in the first quarter and added a two-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter. He came just short of a third touchdown later in the third quarter, getting tackled just outside the goal line to set up a one-yard Kirk Cousins rushing TD. Bowers became the first tight end in NFL history to record at least 70 receiving yards in six consecutive appearances to begin a season. He'll try to extend his historic streak in Week 9 against the 49ers while continuing to work as the top target for Kirk Cousins.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Bowers entered 2025 with high expectations and appeared well on his way to another productive season with 103 yards in Week 1, but a late-game injury limited him for three weeks and led to five full missed games. Bowers remained productive when healthy, finishing second among tight ends in fantasy PPG. Incredibly, he tied for fifth in the NFL with 13 end zone targets despite all the missed action. Bowers, who posted a 112-1,194-5 receiving line as a rookie in 2024, will be the top target for No. 1 pick Fernando Mendoza. The 23-year-old is well positioned for a highly productive season and should be on your radar in the second or third round.
