News: 2 days agoNussmeier (coach's decision) is inactive but will serve as the emergency third quarterback against the Raiders on Sunday.
Spin: Nussmeier will once again be the Chiefs' emergency QB3, meaning the rookie seventh-rounder is prohibited from playing Sunday unless both Patrick Mahomes and Justin Fields leave the game due to injury, illness or ejection.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Nussmeier was selected by the Chiefs in the seventh round of April's draft. Nussmeier is an undersized, pocket quarterback and older prospect. He was extremely conservative last season, posting rookie-class-low marks in aDOT (6.4), YPA (6.7) and YPC (9.9). Aside of his ability to avoid sacks (career 3.40% sack rate), Nussmeier's efficiency isn't overly impressive and he's a nonfactor as a rusher (career 33-179-5 line and a class-low 1.4 carries per game). Nussmeier will handle No. 3 duties behind Patrick Mahomes and Justin Fields.
