News: 2 days agoTyson is expected to miss about two months due to the hamstring injury he suffered last week, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Spin: Per the report, Tyson sought multiple medical opinions on an injury that coach Kellen Moore indicated is separate from the one he dealt with in the spring, but the 2026 first-rounder now appears to be on track to miss time out of the gate this season. Considering the proposed length of Tyson's recovery, it could be more open-ended than the Saints are letting on, but the team will continue to evaluate the wideout's injury. Meanwhile, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football indicates that starting the campaign on IR -- which would force him to miss at least four games -- is a possibility for Tyson. In Tyson's looming absence, Devaughn Vele, Bryce Lance (undisclosed) and Barion Brown are candidates to see added reps alongside Chris Olave, the team's top healthy WR.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Tyson was selected by the Saints with the No. 8 overall pick of April's draft. He is a versatile receiver with decent size who led this rookie class with a 35% target share during the nine weeks he was active in 2025. Injuries cost him time during all four collegiate seasons, but he still managed a 158-2,282-22 receiving line in 33 games, posting a strong 2.73 YPRR along the way (third best in this class). Tyson suffered a hamstring injury in August and will miss a month or two of the regular season prior to taking over as the Saints' No. 2 receiver behind Chris Olave. Once healthy, Tyson has a path to a substantial role in an ascending offense led by second-year QB Tyler Shough and could find himself on the WR3 radar. Of course, with the injury, he's only worth a late flier.
