News: 3 days agoNussmeier (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against Denver, though he will be available as the team's emergency quarterback.
Spin: Nussmeier is inactive for another contest. However, the signal-caller will be available if Patrick Mahomes and Justin Fields exit the game due to injury, illness or ejection.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Nussmeier was selected by the Chiefs in the seventh round of April's draft. Nussmeier is an undersized, pocket quarterback and older prospect. He was extremely conservative last season, posting rookie-class-low marks in aDOT (6.4), YPA (6.7) and YPC (9.9). Aside of his ability to avoid sacks (career 3.40% sack rate), Nussmeier's efficiency isn't overly impressive and he's a nonfactor as a rusher (career 33-179-5 line and a class-low 1.4 carries per game). Nussmeier will handle No. 3 duties behind Patrick Mahomes and Justin Fields.
