News: 1 day agoVladar is day-to-day because of an upper-body injury, Jackie Spiegel of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports Wednesday.
Spin: Vladar left Tuesday's preseason game due to the injury. While that's obviously less than ideal, his status isn't nearly as bleak as it could have been. "I think we dodged a bullet," head coach Rick Tocchet said. Vladar is set to be the Flyers' No. 1 goaltender this campaign, while Joseph Woll is penciled in to serve as his understudy.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Vladar arrived in Philadelphia last season after four years in Calgary and quickly stole the starting job from Samuel Ersson. He ended up setting career-best marks in games (52), wins (29), and GAA (2.42). Vladar's .906 save percentage was his highest mark since the 2021-22 campaign. One has to imagine a good chunk of Vladar's individual success was directly related to how much the Flyers improved as a team. If they take a step back as a group in 2026-27, Vladar is at risk, as well. Treat him as a high-end No. 2 fantasy netminder on draft day.
