Fantasy Hockey
ESPN Fantasy Projection: McAvoy missed the first month of the 2022-23 season due to offseason shoulder surgery, but he returned in mid-November and sat out just two games the rest of the way. He cracked the 50-point plateau (52) for a second straight season despite sharing time on Boston's No. 1 power-play unit with Hampus Lindholm. Overall, McAvoy's ice time dipped from a whopping 24:40 per night in 2021-22 to 22:18 in 2022-23, but he still contributed north of 200 combined hits/blocks (215) despite the missed time and reduced role. Still just 25 years of age, McAvoy projects as a multi-category contributor and a low-end No. 1 fantasy defender this year.
