News: 5 days agoTkachuk (hand) is on the Panthers' training camp roster.

Spin: Tkachuk dealt with a hand injury during the Flames' playoff run last season, but it was never expected to interrupt his preparation for 2022-23. The 24-year-old heads into his first year with the Panthers coming off of a 104-point campaign. Tkachuk is expected to form a top-line partnership with Aleksander Barkov while also seeing first-unit minutes on the power play.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: In one of the biggest trades in recent NHL history in July, the Flames sent Tkachuk who finished eighth in scoring a year ago with 104 points in 82 games to the Panthers for a package which included Jonathan Huberdeau, who finished second in the league in scoring with 115 points in 80 games. Tkachuk informed Calgary management he had no interest in signing a new contract, necessitating the move. He then immediately signed an eight-year, $76 million deal with the Panthers. Tkachuk is an all-around fantasy force who shoots the puck a ton, produces with the man advantage (29 points a year ago), and threatens 100 hits per season. Set to play alongside Aleksander Barkov on Florida's top line, you're going to have to pay up for Tkachuk in your draft this coming fall, but it'll be worth it.
