Fantasy Hockey
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Simply put, fantasy managers that drafted Hedman to anchor their fantasy team in 2022-23 got burned. He closed with nine goals and 49 points in 76 games, a far cry from the career-best 20 goals and 85 points he posted in 2021-22. The most concerning number of all was Hedman's lack of productivity with the man advantage. His average ice time per game a man up dropped by nearly a minute from 3:35 to 2:36, with the result being a measly 14 power-play points compared to 38 two years ago. There's a case to be made that Hedman is due for some positive regression in 2023-24 considering his shooting percentage last season was just 4.9 percent, his lowest mark in well over a decade, but there appear to be numerous higher-upside targets in drafts this fall.
