Jude Bellingham scored a fine solo goal as Real Madrid continued their 100 per cent start to Jose Mourinho's second spell in charge by thrashing Malaga 4-0 in LaLiga.

England midfielder Bellingham dribbled past three opposition defenders to put Madrid ahead in the 19th minute at Santiago Bernabeu.

Bellingham then forced an own goal from Malaga goalkeeper Alfonso Herrero before Kylian Mbappé volleyed home his fourth goal of the season following a Trent Alexander-Arnold cross.

Substitute Arda Güler completed the scoring in added time to cap a third successive victory for Real since the return of head coach Mourinho.

Bellingham also hit the woodwork, while Malaga's Rafa Rodríguez was denied by the frame of the goal at the other end.

Mourinho, who was reappointed this summer after a previous tenure between 2010 and 2013, recalled Alexander-Arnold as part of five changes following Thursday's 4-1 win over Real Sociedad.

Madrid began strongly and capitalised thanks to a moment of magic from Bellingham.

The 23-year-old seized on a loose ball more than 30 yards out and evaded three attempted tackles as he surged into the penalty area to finish between Herrero's legs from a tight angle.

Malaga fell further behind five minutes later. Herrero did well to keep out Mbappe's initial effort, but the ball looped into the air and Bellingham headed towards goal. Carlos Puga slid in to clear, only for the ball to rebound in off Herrero.

Real were three goals up on the half-hour mark when Mbappe backed up his hat-trick against Sociedad by clinically volleying Alexander-Arnold's drilled delivery into the bottom-left corner.

Malaga almost pulled one back two minutes before the break but Rodriguez's close-range effort following a Joaquín Muñoz corner clipped a post.

Mbappe tested Herrero early in the second period before the impressive Bellingham rattled the left upright after working space inside the 18-yard box.

Herrero then pulled off further saves from Alexander-Arnold and Bellingham to prevent the visitors falling further behind.

Malaga were awarded a penalty with five minutes remaining but the handball decision against Real substitute Yan Diomande was overturned by referee Juan Martínez following a VAR review.

The away side's frustration was compounded a minute beyond the 90 when Guler ran from inside his own half and tapped home from inside the six-yard box after exchanging passes with Vinícius Júnior.

Real return to action at Real Betis on Friday evening before hosting Inter Milan in the Champions League next Tuesday.
