News: 19 hours agoJones (illness) isn't listed on the Liberty's injury report for Sunday's preseason game against the Sun, Madeline Kenney of the New York Post reports.
Spin: Jones sat out Friday's practice due to an illness but is set to play in the Liberty's preseason finale. The veteran center posted four points, six rebounds, two assists and one block across 13 minutes in last Saturday's preseason-opening loss to the Fever.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Jones' production took a hit during the 2025 campaign after she missed an extended period before the All-Star break due to a right ankle injury. The 2021 WNBA MVP appeared in 31 regular-season outings, averaging 13.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.7 triples and 1.1 blocks while shooting 42.4 percent from beyond the arc in 26.8 minutes per contest. She underwent a minor procedure in October to correct instability in her right ankle and has spent the offseason recovering. Although she was an unrestricted free agent this spring, the veteran center will return to New York with Sabrina Ionescu and Breanna Stewart. Jones is still capable of delivering elite fantasy value, finishing inside the top-10 players in 2024. She figures to be an early-to-mid-round target in fantasy drafts ahead of the 2026 campaign.
