FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Josh Beckett pitched two scoreless innings and Lars Anderson hit a grand slam, leading manager Bobby Valentine and the Boston Red Sox to an 8-3 victory over a Minnesota Twins split squad in their spring training opener Sunday.
Beckett gave up one hit with two strikeouts for Boston, which beat Northeastern 25-0 and Boston College 6-3 Saturday in exhibition games.
Left-hander Francisco Liriano allowed a hit and walked one in two scoreless innings for the Twins. He struck out one.
Anderson hit his grand slam in the Red Sox's five-run seventh. Mike Aviles had a two-run single in the fourth.
Ben Revere drove in a run with a groundout in the fifth, and had an RBI single in the seventh for the Twins.
