News: 8 hours agoBernard (hip/knee) was a limited practice participant Wednesday.
Spin: In his return from injured reserve this past Sunday against the Eagles following a four-game absence, Bernard and Ke'Shawn Vaughn both earned a 49 percent share of offensive snaps with Leonard Fournette (hamstring) still on IR and Ronald Jones (ankle) ruled out. Overall, Bernard turned 13 carries and five catches into 83 yards from scrimmage and one touchdown, while Vaughn had 19 touches for 62 total yards and a TD. Bernard's practice limitations may be maintenance related, but the Buccaneers backfield should be monitored to see who among himself, Fournette, Jones -- who didn't practice Wednesday -- and Vaughn will be available for Sunday's divisional-round game versus the Rams.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Bernard signed with Buccaneers after eight seasons with the Bengals. Bernard ranked 26th among RBs with 171 touches last season and, while that may not seem like much, he totaled 174 during the 2018-19 seasons. Bernard's production was all over the map, however, as he reached 20 fantasy points in four games after Joe Mixon's Week 6 season-ending injury, but was in single digits the other six weeks. Bernard is still a capable receiver (81% catch rate, 6.1 YPT in 2020), but has struggled badly as a rusher recently (his 3.4 YPC is fourth worst and his 1.5 YAC eighth worst among 57 RBs with 200-plus carries since 2018). The 29-year-old will see the passing down work, but Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones II will handle most of the carries in Tampa Bay. Bernard is worth a late pick in PPR.
