News: 2 days agoJohnson logged a three-yard carry and caught both of his targets for 24 yards during the Bills' 33-30 win over the Raiders on Sunday.

Spin: Johnson and Ray Davis each saw only one carry during Sunday's win, with lead back James Cook turning 22 carries into 95 yards and a touchdown. Johnson was still involved somewhat in the passing game, and through four games he has 12 catches on as many targets for 155 yards. The veteran running back will continue to operate in a rotational role on offense, but his workload would expand significantly if Cook ever misses time. The Bills are on a bye for Week 7, and their next game will take place in Week 8 against the Ravens on Sunday, Nov. 1.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Johnson has settled in as a productive change-of-pace and receiving option in the Buffalo backfield behind James Cook. Johnson enters his eighth NFL season having yet to clear 63 carries or 34 catches in a season, but his role allows for him to hit for the occasional big game (15-plus fantasy points four times over the last two seasons). Of course, those games have come at random, making Johnson an unusable fantasy commodity. Even if Cook misses time this season, it's likely that Johnson would remain in his role, with Ray Davis instead stepping into lead back duties. Johnson plays a valuable role for Buffalo, but he's not a fantasy option.
