News: 7 days agoTurner (hamstring) will not participate in Saturday's practice, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.

Spin: The 2022 fifth-round pick evidently suffered a hamstring injury during Friday's practice. While the injury isn't expected to be serious, Turner had been benefitting from the absence of expected starter Logan Thomas (knee), who continues to rehab from a torn ACL suffered back in December. Any missed practice time likely will give opportunities to the likes of Sammis Reyes, Curtis Hodges and Armani Rogers, who are all competing with Turner for one of the final spots on the 53-man roster.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Turner was selected by Washington in the fifth round of April's draft. He is listed as a tight end, but he's essentially a 6-foot-7 wide receiver, having spent most of his time at Nevada in the slot (70% of snaps) and having blocked on a class-low 37% of his collegiate snaps. Turner was often utilized as a vertical threat, as he ran a deep route on a class-high 43% of his routes. He ended up with a solid 117-1,370-20 receiving line for his career (most of that during the last two seasons). Turner posted a class-low 27-inch vertical at the combine, but his combination of age (22), size and college production makes him an interesting sleeper. He'll develop behind Logan Thomas.
