News: 6 days agoIngram notched five carries for 19 yards during Monday's 38-10 loss to the 49ers.

Spin: The Cardinals moved on from Eno Benjamin last week, effectively elevating Ingram to James Conner's direct backup. But with Conner able to handle a healthy majority of the snaps (55 of 71) and touches (16) Monday, Ingram was left with only a handful of opportunities on 18 offensive plays. While the carry count was the second-most of his young career, the 2022 sixth-round pick still is averaging just 2.5 YPC on his 19 rushes to date. Ingram thus doesn't hold much sway without Conner missing time.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Ingram was selected by Arizona in the sixth round of April's draft. He spent three seasons at Texas and one at USC during his collegiate career. He played a relatively similar role all four years, maxing out at 156 carries in 2021 and 35 targets in 2019. His overall efficiency is fine, but he was at his best this past season, posting the seventh best YAC (3.6) and eighth-best evaded tackle rate (8.1). Ingram is big, showed well at the combine and is a capable rusher and receiver. The Arizona depth chart is far from set behind James Conner, so Ingram has a shot to carve out a small role as a rookie. He's worth a look in dynasty formats.
