News: 6 days agoVirgil (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Seahawks.

Spin: The rookie fifth-rounder has been a healthy scratch for each of the Cardinals' first two games of the regular season, and the next chance for him to make his NFL debut is Week 3 against the 49ers on Sept. 27. The Cardinals will go with six active wide receivers Sunday, with the position group led by Michael Wilson, Marvin Harrison and Kendrick Bourne.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Virgil was selected by the Cardinals in the fifth round of April's draft. Virgil is a tall, thin, perimeter, vertical receiver who ranked near the top of this WR rookie class in aDOT (14.7) and YPR (15.8) but near the basement in RAC (4.5), catch rate (54%) and YPRR (1.79) during his career at Miami Ohio and Texas Tech. A class-high 48% of his targets came on deep routes, though he played a more well-rounded role in 2025 -- his lone season with the Red Raiders. Virgil ran a 4.57 40-yard dash at 187 pounds at the combine, which works out to a poor speed score of 86. Virgil will battle Kendrick Bourne for No. 3 duties behind Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson. He's off the short-term fantasy radar.
