Brian Flores' playlist to start Dolphins practice Tuesday included at least seven consecutive Jay-Z songs, which was eye-opening given Kenny Stills' comments challenging the way the hip-hop mogul went about his partnership with the NFL. Among the songs were, "Show Me What You Got, " "Brooklyn We Go Hard," "Run This Town," and "99 Problems."

Dolphins S Reshad Jones returned to practice Monday and did some individual drills. He said he expects to play in the regular season opener. He's missed the last two weeks due to a right foot injury that he had a boot and cast on.

Brian Flores said he expects Ryan Fitzpatrick to start the third preseason game next week vs. Jaguars. That is typically the closest one to a regular season game.

Wanted to see more out of Josh Rosen in his starting opportunity tonight to surpass Ryan Fitzpatrick. His day was OK. But fortunately for him, Fitz didn't do anything to separate. Battle should still be open as we head into third preseason game.

Preston Williams has been the story of Dolphins training camp, but Sam Eguaveon has been a close No.2. He just forced a fumble there and has consistently looked good. Eguaveon spent the last three years in the CFL and now he's in position to not only make the team but start.

Great opportunity for Josh Rosen to make a major statement in Dolphins QB battle. Ryan Fitzpatrick has been the leader in the clubhouse all spring and summer. Brian Flores says final decision hasn't been made yet. Rosen's chance is tonight.

DB Fitzpatrick adjusting as Fins move him around

Dolphins defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick said his mom wasn't wrong when she replied to a tweet about his struggles by saying "maybe it's because he is not a" strong safety.

Kenyan Drake told me he's dealing with a foot injury that has him in a walking boot. It will force him to miss some time but it's "nothing crazy." He doesn't think it will derail his season. "I'll be back," he said. Brian Flores said he believes Drake will be OK and the team's hope is that he won't miss any regular season time. But no guarantee for that.

Josh Rosen ran with the starters got just about all of practice Wednesday. His first full day getting true starter burn of training camp and second time with the ones this week. Kalen Ballage and Preston Williams in with the 1s too with Kenyan Drake and DeVante Parker out. Rosen hasn't exactly maximized this opportunity with a few overthrows and miscommunications, but it's clear that he's trying to improve his body language — something Brian Flores said was an issue. He threw the wrong route missing an open Kenny Stills, who pulled him aside for a chat. Rosen tapped his chest to signal his mistake.

DeVante Parker isn't practicing today. He's here on the sideline moving around OK. But there's an opportunity for Preston Williams to get a big load with the starters against Bucs D in practice. He's had a phenomenal camp so this will be a good measuring stick.

Just saw Kenyan Drake in a walking boot out here in Tampa to start practice. He left practice early yesterday due to injury. Not sure the severity yet but gear up for more Kalen Ballage at least through the preseason.

Xavien Howard grabbed two INTs today off Jameis Winston while covering Mike Evans. On his second interception, he took it back to the crib while pointing back to Winston and the rest of the offense. No doubt that Howard is the Dolphins best player and he still has plenty more to prove even after the big contract this offseason.

Brian Flores said his plan is to have Ryan Fitzpatrick start their second preseason game against the Bucs like he did in the first one. That's subject to change, but it appears Fitzpatrick is still the leader in Dolphins QB battle. One reason why: intangibles, which Fitzpatrick credits for keeping him in the league this long. An example is that Josh Rosen called Fitzpatrick one of the best mentors he ever had and mentioned he's been extremely selfless in midst of a tight QB battle.
