Fantasy Hockey
ESPN Fantasy Projection: The Hurricanes are one of the best teams in the NHL and Andersen has played well for virtually his entire career when healthy, but he's also frequently been banged-up. Last year, Andersen played just 34 games (21-11-1, 2.48 GAA, .903 save percentage), with his most notable ailment being a lower-body issue which cost him two months' worth of action from mid-November to mid-January. The two-year, $6.8 million deal he inked to return to Carolina as a free agent this offseason is a potential bargain, but the Hurricanes also re-signed Antti Raanta to a one-year deal, and they still have youngster Pyotr Kochetkov hanging around, which, combined with Andersen's lack of durability, means we are again almost certainly looking at a committee approach for the 2023-24 campaign.
