Fantasy Hockey
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Those hoping for top-tier production from Ekblad a season ago came away disappointed. He finished with just 38 points in 71 games, a far cry from the 57 points in 61 games we saw from him in 2021-22. Ekblad was banged up for a good portion of the season and lost key offensive minutes to the emerging Brandon Montour along the way. Ekblad played through a broken foot and an oblique tear in the playoffs before undergoing offseason shoulder surgery. He's not expected to be ready for training camp, although it remains unclear if he's in danger of missing regular-season games. Given the injury concerns and the presence of Montour, the risk may outweigh the potential reward with Ekblad from a fantasy perspective for 2023-24.
