News: 1 day agoEichel scored a goal on three shots and added two assists in Thursday's 5-4 preseason overtime win over the Mammoth.
Spin: Eichel looks good to go to start 2026-27. The 29-year-old's tally was the overtime winner Thursday. Eichel will center the top line and see ice time in all situations as the leader of the Golden Knights' offense. He's posted consecutive seasons of at least 90 points, though he hasn't reached the 30-goal mark since 2023-24.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: When healthy, Eichel has turned into one of the most reliable fantasy options in the league and that continued a season ago. Appearing in 74 games, he posted 27 goals, 90 points, 260 shots on goal, and a plus-23 rating. Eichel added 28 points with the man advantage, although 27 of those were assists. He had 16 power-play goals the prior two seasons combined, so that number should correct itself moving forward. The lone concern here is the fact Eichel, set to turn 30 years old in late October, is banged up seemingly every year. He's played 75-plus games just once in the past seven seasons. There's clear risk here, but the upside is obviously substantial.
